NYC Parks’ Report on Progress 2014-2016 highlights our agency's new initiatives and progress.

Recent accomplishments include:

• New investments in neighborhood and community parks through the Community Parks Initiative and Anchor Parks program.
• Ever expanding recreation, fitness, and educational programs, including new Shape Up NYC classes and camping trips led by our Urban Park Rangers.
• Reaching our goal of planting one million trees citywide, two years ahead of schedule!
• Leveraging new technology to improve our data collection and efficiency, including solar-powered Soofa benches that are helping us learn more about park usage.
• Changes to park entrances, edges, and sidewalks that will better connect parks to their surrounding communities through the Parks Without Borders program.
• Completion of the agency's third street tree census, which produced the world's largest and most detailed online street tree map.
