Kayakers are only permitted to land at the floating dock near Pier 101.  Kayakers are NOT permitted to land on other parts of Governers Island.

Restrictive Conditions

There are numerous resricted areas on all approaches to Governers Island; consisting of, but not limited to, bridges towers, tunnel vents, a cruise ship terminal, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty.  It is the responsibility of the kayaker to be aware of these restrictions.

Hazardous Launch/Landing Conditions

Pier 101 is utilized by ferries, police boats, and other official motorized craft.  Kayakers need to pay careful attention to traffic around Pier 101.
