The nearby points of interests are the Habitat of the Salt Marshes, Fort Totten, Civil War Battery, Throgs Neck Bridge and Whitestone Bridge. A typical day paddle would take you into Little Bay around the peninsula into Little Neck Bay toward the Bayside Marina and near Alley Pond Creek.

It is not a straight/direct path and it is a rocky, dirt path.

Currents

There is a current around the jetty, which pulls into Little Neck Bay. Out in the deep channel, there are a few strong currents. It is advised to stay 200 feet from the shore to avoid strong currents.

Emergency Landing Points

During low tide the landing point will be the beach along Little Bay Park. During high tide the Bayside Marina launch/landing will be the nearest emergency landing. During high tide the beach should not be used as an emergency landing because it is dangerous due to the rocks.
