A gravel beach offers access to the sheltered waters of the Bronx River. Portage is 200ft. on an asphalt path.
Caution: A half mile north, a boom collects debris and helps prevent motorized traffic from going north; to the south are strong currents and a working shipping channel.

From Sheridan Expressway (895/278) or Bruckner Blvd take Hunts Point Avenue to Lafayette. Turn left (East) and go to the end. Cross Edgewater Road into the parking lot.
By Mass Transit
Intervale Avenue 2/5 train walk south to 163rd Street and take Bx6 Bus to intersection of Spofford and Halleck. Walk 1 block north to Edgewater and the park. The Bx6 bus starts from 158th Street & Riverside Drive in Manhattan.
Launch, paddle up river to boom. (Very industrial) Down river past Sound view Park and Hunts Point Market. Across the sound to Macneil Park. Nearby Points of Interest: Hunts Point Market
