Native American Heritage Month: The Siwanoy

Saturday, November 30, 2024

11:00 a.m.12:30 p.m.

Celebrate Native American Heritage Month with NYC Parks! Pelham Bay Park was once inhabited by small camps of coastal native people loosely referred to as the “Siwanoy” or “Southern People”. The Siwanoy traded along a route similar to the path of the Siwanoy trail. Hike with the Urban Park Rangers along this historic route and learn about the Siwanoy’s history and way of life.
