Calling All Middle & High School Students!?  
Join us for an exciting 4-week Remote Sensing Workshop at Idlewild Environmental Learning Center! Learn how satellites and airplanes capture images of the Earth to monitor everything from weather patterns to ocean floors. This FREE workshop runs from November to December and is packed with hands-on and computer-based activities. No prior experience needed!

Topics: Atmosphere, Geosphere, Hydrosphere, and Biosphere  
Middle School: Tuesdays  
High School: Fridays  
Laptops provided (but feel free to bring your own)!

Paerdegat Basin Park
Ecology Park is a five acre site set within Paerdegat Basin Park. The goal of the park is to promote habitat restoration and ecological improvement, highlighting fourteen native plant community types that exist or once existed in New York City.

Ecology Park is only open at certain times of year when Parks staff are present in order to protect this unique landscape. Want to visit? Check out our Stewardship Projects page for restoration, planting, and educational events.
