Hart Island is the largest public cemetery in the country and has served New York City since 1869. Hart Island’s history is connected to many communities with important stories to tell. Walking the South Island includes discussion of an amusement park, military history, multiple pandemics, historic buildings and more. Join the Urban Park Rangers to hear their history and their voices.
